Haven Series Collection (books 1&2) Review and Giveaway

I love to read, but I hate to review books because I'm so afraid of spilling the beans. So, here's how we are going to do this: I'm going to tell you my thoughts and then I'll post a description of both books that comes straight from the author.

It's sometimes difficult for me to stay in the groove of reading, especially with well-known authors because I feel most of their books just repeat one another. So, I am a big fan of finding "not so well-known" authors to read from. This two book series had me absolutely captivated! During the first book I found myself on the edge of my seat as I ventured through the getting to know the characters and trying to figure out the plots that laid ahead. My initial assumptions were blown out of the water by the end of the book and that intrigued and thrilled me even more! I absolutely love a book that puts twist and turns in your path and makes you THINK you have it figured out. 

By the time I started reading book two, I was undeniably hooked on the series! I told myself going into the second book that there was no way the author could top the first one. Oh, how wrong I was! Now it's not unusual for me to get so engulfed in a book that I begin experiencing the emotions of one or more characters, but it's not often that I find an author who can pull me into their books for me to experience those emotions. Well, D.C. Akers certainly did a magnificent job! I was so engulfed with book two that I swear I felt every emotion that every character displayed!
